Policy & Governance
Stronger Ties CIC operates as a prevention-focused social enterprise committed to high standards of governance, transparency, and citizen protection. Our governance framework reflects our distinction as a structured relational stability infrastructure organisation.
1. Organisational Structure
Stronger Ties CIC is a Community Interest Company with asset lock protection, social purpose mandate, and community reinvestment obligations.
- Registered with the Regulator of Community Interest Companies
- Governance by directors committed to strategic oversight, safeguarding compliance, data governance, and financial stewardship
- Statutory clauses prevent the distribution of residual assets to members
2. Safeguarding Policy
We operate a clear safeguarding framework. While our services are prevention-focused and non-clinical, we recognise that vulnerability may surface, disclosures may occur, and escalation may be required.
Our safeguarding approach includes:
- Clear internal escalation procedures
- Named safeguarding lead
- Signposting to statutory services
- Data handling in line with safeguarding law
We do not replace statutory safeguarding agencies.
3. Data Protection & Privacy
The Relational Readiness Standard (RRS) platform is built with privacy by design principles. Key protections include:
- Encrypted data storage
- Secure authentication
- No sharing of raw responses between partners
- Controlled data retention
- Explicit consent gating
RRS Privacy Framework
Individuals retain control of their data. Couple dashboards display aggregated scores only, never raw answers. We comply with UK GDPR and Scottish data protection requirements.
4. Assessment Governance
All RRS assessments are structured reflection tools. They are strictly non-diagnostic and do not provide clinical evaluation or replace therapy or legal advice.
They are designed to improve clarity, highlight governance gaps, support structured conversation, and inform prevention decisions. Score bands reflect stability positioning, not labels of success or failure.
5. Professional Standards
Masterclasses and professional certification train practitioners in prevention-informed relational governance. They do not authorise therapeutic intervention.
- Mandatory ethics training for all certified practitioners
- Emphasis on boundary clarity and professional distance
- Ethical use of structured tools within professional remit
Certification requires adherence to STCIC ethical standards.
6. Financial Transparency
As a CIC, we operate with a full asset lock. 100% of surplus revenue is reinvested into community programs or held in protected reserves for future public benefit.
We operate transparent pricing structures for individual access, couple dashboards, facilitated interpretation, and local authority pilots.
7. Equality & Inclusion
We operate on the principle that relational stability is a public good. We are committed to:
- Accessible language
- High-contrast digital design
- Non-judgemental framing
- Socioeconomic sensitivity
- Inclusive family structures
Our framework is adaptable across diverse cultural contexts.
8. Research & Development
Our methods are subject to continuous evidence-based refinement. We collaborate with academic institutions to validate our prevention frameworks while maintaining strict participant anonymity. STCIC is committed to continuous improvement, data-informed refinement, and ethical validation processes.
9. Complaints Procedure
We maintain a structured three-stage process for all concerns:
- Informal Resolution: Initial acknowledgement within 5 working days and mediation between parties.
- Formal Investigation: Independent review by a Director with proportionate investigation and written response.
- External Review: Referral to the relevant regulatory body if unresolved.
